Exhibit to open Thursday at Quayle Bible Collection

Baldwin City, Kan. — A Quayle Bible Collection exhibit titled “The Bible — Acted, Sung and Given” will open from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Collins Library on the Baldwin City campus.

The exhibit will celebrate how the Bible has been made beautiful through the ages by illumination, decoration and the singing of the psalms.

Lee Mann, professor and chair of art department, inspired the exhibit after teaching marbling last year and noticing approximately 100 marbled pieces in the collection.

Marbled endpapers, a “Book of Hours” and several Psalters will be on exhibit for the first time.

Contemporary marbled papers created by Susan Pogany, of Lawrence, will also be on display.
