Guitar orchestra to perform on Baker campus

Baldwin City, Kan. — The Carl-Maria von Weber Guitar Orchestra from Eutin, Germany, will perform as part of Baker University’s Artist and Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, at McKibbin Recital Hall on the Baldwin City campus. Tickets are $15.

Andreas van Zoest will conduct the orchestra. He received his master's degree in music education specializing in guitar at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck, Germany and teaches guitar and ensemble performance at the Musikschule Ostholstein in Eutin. His students are among the most talented in Germany, having frequently won first prizes in the Jugend Musiziert competition.

Tickets for the Artist and Lecture Series event may be purchased at the door 30 minutes before the performance. Tickets also are available at the Baker University business office at Constant Hall.
