Orchestras to perform at fall concert

Baldwin City, Kan. —  The Baker University Fall Orchestra Concert will be 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 25, at Rice Auditorium. Admission is free.

The concert will open with “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5” by J.S. Bach, featuring student soloists Sarah Shipley (violin), Olivia Hernandez (flute) and Adrienne Barclay (harpsichord).

The String Orchestra will perform “St. Paul’s Suite” by Gustav Holst and “It Takes Four to Tango” by 21st century American composer Daniel Dorff.

The Symphonic Orchestra selections include “Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46” by Edvard Grieg and two movements of “Capriccio Espagnol, Op. 34” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Lori McKinney will conduct the orchestras.
