NEWS RELEASE KDOT begins resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 56Baldwin City, Kan. — Visitors to the Baldwin City campus can expect construction work on a 12-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 56 from the U.S. Highway 59 junction east to the Johnson County line for resurfacing work, the Kansas Department of Transportation has announced. Crews will work from west to east on U.S. Highway 56 Monday through Friday during daylight hours. There will be alternating lane closures for eastbound and westbound traffic. Drivers should expect a maximum delay of fifteen minutes throughout the duration of the project. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place throughout the project work zone. The project work is scheduled to be completed in mid-October 2010, weather permitting. ### |
