Baker students place first at Midwest Decision Science Institute
Baldwin City, Kan. — Three Baker University seniors combined efforts to place first at the Midwest Decision Science Institute’s annual student case competition May 12-14 on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
The students — Sam Altman, Fort Collins, Colo.; Andrew Dale, Topeka, Kan.; and Nick Davis, Chehalis, Wash. — won the event for their presentation of a case involving the strategic analysis for a small business expansion and the development of the essentials of a business plan supporting that expansion.
Kevin McCarthy, professor of business and economics, accompanied the group to Indianapolis. All three students will graduate this weekend with Bachelor of Science degrees. The Midwest Decision Science Institute is a multidisciplinary international association dedicated to advancing knowledge and improving instruction in all business and related disciplines.
