NEWS RELEASE Community Choir prepares for third seasonBaldwin City, Kan. — The popular Baker Community Choir is preparing for its third season. Formed in February 2010 by Matthew Potterton, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Baker University, the choir annually draws 70 to 80 singers from Baker and the surrounding communities. The repertoire is varied, ranging from French composer Gabriel Faure´ to spirituals. Choir practices are 6 to 7:50 p.m. Thursdays at McKibbin Recital Hall. Practices for the upcoming season begin on Aug. 25. Singers of all ages are welcome. The choir will perform with the Baldwin City Children’s Choir at Baker’s Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at First United Methodist Church.
