Baker to host 13th Annual Marching Festival
Baldwin City, Kan. — Baker University will be host to more than 800 area high school musicians at the 13th annual Marching Festival at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Liston Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.
Ten marching bands, two color guard units and three drum lines from Class 1-5A schools will perform.
Plaques will be presented to drum majors/color guard captains at the awards presentations, and The Jeremy Frye Memorial Championship Trophy will be presented to the total points champion band at the final awards ceremony at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Judges for the event are Rosa Adams-Bussard, director of bands, Olathe Northwest High School; Martin Dunlap, director of graduate studies in Education, MidAmerica Nazarene University; Sid Showalter, former director of bands, Hutchinson High School; and Jan Verboom, director of bands, Valley Center High School, Valley Center.
