University to be represented at Department of Defense Worldwide Education Symposium

Overland Park, Kan. — Baker University will participate at the Department of Defense Worldwide Education Symposium 2012 July 23-27 at the MGM Grand and Signature at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Anastasia Watson, enrollment manager, and Lisa Hood, corporate education specialist at Baker, will represent Baker’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies at the event focused on military education programs.

The theme for the symposium is “Educating the Force – Joint Effort, Joint Success.” The event will explore strategies to effectively deliver voluntary education programs that enhance service members’ capacity to serve while enabling them to improve their quality of life.

Baker is designated a 2012 Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs, the premier magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The magazine recognizes the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students. Baker also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. The university offers special rates for active military and discounts for spouses of military members.
