NEWS RELEASE Exhibit to cover 50 years of artworkBaldwin City, Kan. — An exhibition of original artwork, “Out of Fifty: Walt Bailey Retrospective 1962-2012,” will be on display Oct. 4 through Nov. 6 at Holt-Russell Gallery at Parmenter Hall on Baker University’s Baldwin City campus. The show will open with a reception at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4.
Bailey, a 1962 Baker graduate and emeritus professor of art at Baker, will display more than 26 pieces from the past 50 years, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and stained glass. A watercolor from his graduating senior show will be among the works in the exhibit. “I’m looking to forward to see how all the different pieces will work together in the exhibit,” said Bailey, a Baldwin City resident and member of Baker’s faculty hall of fame. “Two radically different pieces of art placed side by side can work.” ### Baker University is committed to assuring student learning and developing confident, competent and responsible contributors to society. |
