Emporia junior named Student Leader of Month

Baldwin City, Kan. — Nancy Delgado, a junior from Emporia, Kan., majoring in biology, pre-medicine and Spanish, has been named Baker University's Student Leader of the Month for November.Nancy-Delgado

Delgado is president of the junior class and president of the Sigma Delta Pi National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. She previously served as president of the sophomore class and vice-president of the freshman class at Baker.

The nomination for the leadership honor stated the following: "I saw leadership in action when Nancy worked nearly single-handedly to organize 'A Night of Poetry,' sponsored by Sigma Delta Chi and Alpha Mu Gamma Foreign Language Honor Society in which students recited poetry in different languages. I was impressed by her initiative and the results she achieved. There are so many extracurricular activities and events that benefit Baker and the wider community in which Nancy participates."
