The nomination for the leadership honor stated:

"Brandon has a humble but steady confidence that enables him to do incredible things. One area that distinguishes Brandon from other students is his exceptional commitment to philanthropy and service. Brandon is an enthusiastic energizer to the student body to get involved and make a difference. From his work with SAC, to assisting the university in hosting alumni and distinguished guests with parMentors, to playing in the praise band at chapel every Thursday, Brandon goes above and beyond to contribute to our community.
