Baker recognized as a top school in the Midwest

Baldwin City, Kan. - U.S. News and World Report has listed Baker University as the highest ranked master's-level private university in Kansas in its 2006 America's Best Colleges rankings.

Baker's ranking was 46th in the Midwest. States in the Midwest for the rankings were Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

The magazine defines a regional school as one that provides a full-range of undergraduate- and master's-level programs. The ranking is based on several key measures of academic quality, including academic reputation, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performances and alumni-giving rate. The magazine collects its data from the colleges and several other sources.
