Lambert to receive Bal Jeffrey Award
Baldwin City, Kan. — Former Baker University President Daniel M. Lambert has been named the 2006 recipient of the Bal Jeffrey Award for distinguished contributions to health care in northeast Kansas.
Lambert, who retired in June after leading Baker University for 19 years, led efforts in forming the relationship between Stormont-Vail and Baker University. Baker’s School of Nursing at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka was founded in 1991. The School of Nursing has graduated 803 nurses in 15 years.
The award, established in 1987, is named after Balfour Jeffrey, a longtime Stormont-Vail HealthCare board member who died in 1992 at age 86.
Lambert will be honored Oct. 12 at the Bal Jeffrey Awards banquet in Topeka.
