Baldwin City, Kan. — The Baker University Class 1-5A Marching Festival will be host to 16 marching bands and four color guards on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Liston Stadium. The first band is scheduled to perform at 5:30 p.m.

More than 1,100 area high school musicians are registered for the ninth annual festival.

Bands participating will be from Spring Hill, Prairie View, Midway, Baldwin, Osage City, Bonner Springs, Paola, Chanute, Perry-Lecompton, Atchison, Tonganoxie, Ottawa, Mill Valley, Gardner-Edgerton, Louisburg and De Soto.

Osage City, Atchison, De Soto and Louisburg will have their color guards participate at the festival.

An awards ceremony is planned for 9:55 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.
