Baldwin City, Kan. — Alexis Pryor, a junior from Overbrook, has been selected as Baker University’s Department of Health, Sport, and Human Performance Major of the Year.
The major of the year is chosen by the faculty based on academic performance within the major, university and community service, and interest in the profession as shown by the student.
The award will be presented Thursday, Nov. 8, in Emporia during the annual convention of the Kansas Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
Pryor is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science/pre-physical therapy with a minor in business. She is involved in several campus activities, including the philanthropy chair for Delta, Delta, Delta sorority; the Baker Ambassadors; and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
She plays volleyball and softball at Baker. She was a first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference catcher at Baker in 2007.
Pryor is the daughter of Thaine and Kristie Pryor of Overbrook.
