Baldwin City, Kan. — Michael Stickelman, a sophomore French horn major from Maryville, Mo., has been selected to perform in the 2008 National Collegiate Wind Ensemble in May at Carnegie Hall in New York.

He will participate in a six-day residency, which includes six three-hour rehearsals and culminates with a concert. H. Robert Reynolds, Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan, will serve as the guest conductor for the concert.

In high school, Stickelman was first chair in the Missouri All-State Band. He recently studied French horn with William Lane, principal French horn with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently studying French horn with James Funkhouser, professor of French horn at Baker.
