Baldwin City, Kan. — As of Friday afternoon, all three of Baker University’s Winter Commencement ceremonies remain on schedule for Saturday and Sunday at the Collins Center in Baldwin City.
1 p.m. — School of Education students receiving Master of Arts and Education and Master of Arts in School Leadership
4:30 p.m. —School of Professional and Graduate Studies students receiving Master of Business Administration, Master of Liberal Arts and Master of Science in Management degrees
1 p.m. — All undergraduates in the College of Arts Sciences, School of Education, School of Nursing and SPGS
With a heavy snow warning in effect Friday night, Baker University has implemented its inclement weather plan for all weekend ceremonies. All graduates will be instructed to enter the west entrance (Sixth Street) and gather in the north or south hallway at the Collins Center.
No space is available for students to store their coats or valuables at the Collins Center. Students are encouraged to leave items with family and friends during Commencement.
All guests in attendance for Winter Commencement are urged to enter the west entrance of the Collins Center. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and show patience.
Baker administrators will re-evaluate campus conditions in Baldwin City Saturday morning. A decision about the status of Saturday’s Winter Commencement ceremonies will be made by 9 a.m. Information will be updated on the Baker Web site — bakeru.edu — and provided on the Baldwin City campus phone line (785) 594-6451 and the weather line (1 888-302-0010).
If the students are unable to attend because of the weather conditions or the Winter Commencement is canceled, the students are invited to participate in Spring Commencement on May 18, 2008, at the Collins Center.
