Topeka, Kan. — Baker University was honored Thursday in the Kansas Senate and House in recognition of its sesquicentennial.

Baker President Pat Long and former presidents Dan Lambert, Ralph Tanner and Neal Malicky attended the ceremony. They were joined by Sue Gandhi, a member of the Board of Trustees, and Jerry Weakley, Vice President for Endowment and Planned Giving.

The University received standing ovations after Representative Tom Holland and Senator Roger Pine read the resolutions honoring Baker.

Founded on Feb. 12, 1858, Baker is celebrating its 150th birthday throughout the 2007-2008 academic year.
