KNBU-FM 89.7 The Edge!
Baker's student radio station broadcasts live from Pullium Hall 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students get plenty of real-world experience as they plan, produce and promote their own shows. Each staff member has the opportunity to create his or her own voice on campus with at least one two-hour radio program a week.
Alternative rock, classic rock, metal, hip hop, Christian rock and plenty of sports talk, you’ll get a little bit of everything on KNBU-FM 89.7 The Edge!
Be sure to follow Baker Broadcasting on Twitter at www.twitter.com (@KNBU).
Program Schedule
Sunday
6–8 p.m. | The Recovery
Join Tim Laughlin if you need to recover from a busy weekend! Ease into your Sunday night with electronic, dance and techno hits.
8–10 p.m. | Cassie’s Corner
Each week Cassie Wells will be joined by a different co-host from one of the other KNBU-FM shows. That means the topics of discussion and the kinds of music you’ll hear will change from week to week.
10 p.m.–Midnight | Jock Talk and Politics Block
Some people love talking sports. Others like talking politics. This show combines the best of both with your hosts Greg Bradford and Tyler Douglass.
Monday
6–8 p.m. | Coast 2 Coast
Coast 2 Coast radio is back! Bigbody Scotte (Clarence Scott) is once again representing the good folks of Florida and the east. This year, it’s up to DJ J2 (Jordan Johnson) to represent Cali and the west. This team will play hip-hop music the whole country can love.
8–10 p.m. | Monday Madness
It’s the breakout hit from last semester! Gloria Atanmo and Ryckey Harper are back. Send 'em tweets (@GLO and @Harpers_World) during the show to request your favorite hip-hop and R&B tunes.
10 p.m.–Midnight | THIS Time
It’s been tough for KNBU-FM to contain ONE Adger. Now, we’ve got TWO of them! JaNay is joined by her brother Antonio. THIS stands for The Historically Inevitable Swag. Tune in . . . if you think you can handle it.
Tuesday
8–10 p.m. | Hot Filthy Fantasy
For the past couple of years, Andrew “Matzy” Matz has been locked in EMO mode. This year, he’s heading in a new direction. We’re afraid to ask what this show is all about. If you’re brave, tune in to find out more.
10 p.m.–Midnight | The Catacombs
The first metal show in KNBU’s history remains one of its best! Cate Richards does more than play grinding metal music. She also has news and updates on the metal bands and artists from around the world.
Wednesday
6–8 p.m. | Sports Talk with Shawn and Sean
Wednesday is a night for sports on KNBU this fall. Senior Shawn Deegan and sophomore Sean Webb talk Baker athletics and the big sports stories of the week.
8–10 p.m. | Blood, Sweat, and Tears
On a campus like Baker’s, two hours of sports just isn’t enough. So at 8, Brad Barnes and Andre Jolly take over. They’ll cover all the big sports stories, but expect a heavy emphasis on football.
10 p.m.–Midnight | Midnight Munchies
After spending four hours talking about sports, wind down your Wednesday with everything from rap to blue grass. Alex Graber and Beau Bennett serve up a variety of musical tidbits.
Thursday
6–8 p.m. | B-Town Talk
Kathy Wilson (yes, that Kathy Wilson) lends her perspective to meaningful issues of interest to the Baker and Baldwin communities in a weekly public affairs talk show featuring in-studio guests from across campus and around Baldwin City.
8–10 p.m. | Disciple X
Michael Wissmann, 2011’s best college DJ in the State of Kansas (as named by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters), is back with his award-winning show. Join Michael each week for an uplifting two-hour show featuring the best in Christian rock.
10 p.m.–Midnight | Thursday Thunder
Mixing rap with country music may sound like putting sardines on your ice cream, but never fear! The two really do go well together, especially on Thursday Thunder with Blake Greenfield and Alex Stebbins.
