Recycling team finds hidden treasures

Juniors Alex Coffey and Matt Ingram spend their Tuesday and Thursday mornings gathering recycling products from campus buildings.

The task may sound dull, but they find an array of surprises in the rubble.

"We've found human hair, we found vomit in a bag, we found an assortment of alcoholic bottles and stuff," Coffey and Ingram said. "We've found a random condom or two."

Despite some of the messy items they find in the bins, both agree a different item tops them all.

"Someone recycles used paper towels," Ingram said. "They put them in the recycling bin, so we kind of have to deal with that every Tuesday."

Coffey and Ingram will continue to sort through Baker's recycling, but Coffey has one final message for those who try to recycle inappropriate material.

"It's not fun to pick up and stuff, so knock it off," he said.
