1) What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is a learning management system, or a software application, that makes course content readily available to students. Blackboard acts as an online classroom. This classroom contains your reading assignments, papers and projects, opportunities to discuss course concepts, tests, and additional learning opportunities.

You can access Blackboard through the eTools page. You may also click on Blackboard to access the learning management system.

Access Blackboard, click "User Login." Use your assigned name and password for your student e-mail login. Your username is your first name, middle initial, and your last name:
- Example: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
Your password is usually a combination of your initials and birthdate (unless you have changed your password).
Enter your username and password into the login panel and click "Login."

If you have difficulties logging into Blackboard even after you retrieve your login ID, contact the Help Desk or call at 785.594.4544.

If you've forgotten your password, Blackboard will not let you enter courses, so you will need to reset your password. To reset your password, click on Login and then "Forgot Password?" from the Blackboard site. You will be asked to enter your first name, last name and username or e-mail address. Complete the form and click "Submit." Blackboard will send you an e-mail containing a link that will allow you to reset your password. Remember, the e-mail will be sent to your Baker e-mail account. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to reset your password and gain access to Blackboard.

If you are enrolled in an online course, log in successfully to Blackboard, and do not see the course available in Blackboard, please keep in mind that online courses will appear in Blackboard by the first day of the class. If you are scheduled to begin a course and still do not see the course available to you in Blackboard, please contact the Help Desk or call 785.594.4544 to confirm your enrollment in the course.
