Nursing Student Achievement
Honor Roll
At the conclusion of each semester, all full-time students (12 credits or more of courses taken for a letter grade) earning a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher earn a place on the honor roll for that semester, a designation recorded on their permanent transcript.
Scholastic Honors
Degree candidates who will have successfully completed a minimum of three semesters of full-time study at Baker University School of Nursing by the time of their graduation are considered for graduation with scholastic honors. The determination is based on the candidate’s Baker School of Nursing cumulative grade point average and is made at the conclusion of the semester preceding the semester of graduation. Scholastic Honors are designated as follows: 3.90-4.00, Summa Cum Laude; 3.75-3.89, Magna Cum Laude; and 3.50-3.74, Cum Laude.
Eta Kappa Chapter at Large
Eta Kappa Chapter at Large, a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Socieity of Nursing, is a collaborative effort between Baker University School of Nursing and Washburn University School of Nursing. The purpose of Sigma Theta Tau International is to recognize superior achievement, recognize the development of leadership qualities, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession. Eligibility requirements include a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, rank of upper 35 percent of class, leadership skills and completion of at least one-half of the nursing curriculum and faculty endorsement. Inductions take place twice a year.
