CLEP & DSST Exam Preparation
Both CLEP and DSST offer materials to assist in exam preparation. The items listed below are official test preparation resources produced by CLEP and DSST. Please be aware that other organizations market test-preparation materials. Although you are free to use any resource, we recommend that you use only the materials produced by CLEP and DSST.
In the PLA Center, we maintain lists of exam-preparation documents found at local libraries. Please ask us about this resource. If you live outside the Kansas City metropolitan area, you may use the interlibrary loan program through the Baker University library to obtain resources.
Keep in mind that only you can assess your readiness to take an examination. Preparation time varies widely from one person to another, and it depends on many factors.
CLEP Study Resources
The CLEP Official Study Guide contains descriptions of all CLEP exams, test-taking strategies and sample questions. Students may purchase the guide directly from CLEP or at a local bookstore. The cost is $24.95.
You may download individual subject study guides from the CLEP prep center. The cost is $10 each.
DSST Study Resources
Fact sheets for each exam outline the topics covered by the test and include a list of sample questions and a list of recommended references.
The Official DSST Test Preparation Guide covers the most popular DSST exams. The guide is available for $15.96. For more information go to: www.petersons.com/books/DSST.asp. The guide includes sample examinations in the following subject areas: business math, ethics in America, human resource management, introduction to business, personal finance and principles of supervision.
