What is the Master degree in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution (CMDR) Program?
The CMDR program is designed for working adults who seek a graduate degree concentrating on resolving disputes and managing conflict in numerous settings. The curriculum will ground students in the fundamental concepts, theories and approaches in conflict management and dispute resolution. With the focus on both academic and practical skill development, the CMDR program offers a rich learning environment in which a diverse group of students can learn from and interact with instructors who are experienced scholar-practitioners. Will I be certified by the state?
Currently, there is no dispute resolution certification in Kansas or Missouri. However, Kansas, as well as many other states, does have an approval program for mediators who want to receive court-appointed casework.

Please ask your employer if they offer such a benefit.

Is this program only for lawyers or people working in the business sector?
No, the skills taught here apply to everyone, regardless of your chosen field or job title. The concepts you learn can be applied immediately to your daily life both professionally and personally. Our program is open to all graduate-level professionals regardless of age or background. Due to the beneficial nature of the material, a number of specialized fields such as education, commercial, philanthropic, military, government, and religious organizations are strong advocates of conflict management.
