Business Areas of Concentration

Register for a Concentration (Registration form is at the end of the General Education Electives & Concentrations file.)

All courses are offered online. For more information, e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 800.955.7747.

Program Format

  • Each concentration is a collection of four courses; three of these courses may be taken concurrently with or following the MBA and MSM core program.
  • For MBA students, each area of concentration includes a total of 12 credit hours, 9 of which are to be taken in addition to coursework required for the MBA degree completion.
  • For MSM students, the marketing, international business, finance, human resources and information systems areas of concentration include a total of 12 credit hours, 9 of which will be taken in addition to the coursework required for the MSM core program. To earn an accounting concentration, all 12 credit hours must be obtained outside of the MSM core program because the MSM core does not include an accounting course.
  • Courses are administered completely online and are six weeks long. They are scheduled on a term basis, six terms per calendar year (two each in spring, summer and fall).
  • The requirements for the concentration will ensure that there is no conflict with classes or learning teams already scheduled in the degree programs.
  • Beginning with spring 2010, Baker is implementing online enrollment for the general education and elective courses as well as the concentration courses. Students will enroll exclusively online through their student portal.
