Italy Travel Course | May 27 - June 3
The Arts & Christianity
ART/REL 5300 or HU 410
Explore the heart of Italy with Baker University. Journey to Rome, Assisi and Florence to explore sacred sites of the Christian faith, including the Sistine Chapel, the basilicas of Christian Rome and the catacombs. The religious and secular art, music and architecture of Italy help create a study experience you will never forget.
Attend a Papal audience and tour the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica. Explore pagan Rome by visiting the Forum and the grandeur of the Colosseum.
In Assisi visit the Tomb of St. Francis to see the shrines and vast collections of art or just sit under Umbria’s beautiful olive trees.
Then travel on to Florence, which many describe as the most beautiful city in Italy. Birthplace of Dante and the Renaissance, Florence was the cultural and intellectual heart of Europe for 300 years. See masterpieces by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian and many more.
