Steven Stewart had one of Baker's four hits Friday afternoon.

OLATHE, Kan. - Nick Peterson gave Baker a 2-0 lead in the first-inning on a two-run home run, but it was MidAmerica Nazarene countering the Baker effort with three runs in the first and second innings before delivering the knockout blow with a six-run fourth-inning rally.

Ultimately it was pitching that won the game for MidAmerica Nazarene. MNU pitcher Harrison Helms (6-3) was stellar giving up two earned runs on four hits en route to his sixth victory of the season. The Wildcats gave up 12 earned runs on 11 hits.

 

With the loss, the playoff picture in the West Region became clear. William Jewell (37-11, 20-8) will enter the HAAC Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, with Avila (31-12, 20-8) and MNU (22-20, 15-11) following suit.

The Wildcats (15-24, 11-15) will be back in action Saturday afternoon when they host MidAmerica Nazarene on Senior Day at 2:00 p.m. Baker will honor the seniors prior to the first pitch at 1:45 p.m.
