Sean McAlister, Josh Vossen, Zach Durr, and James Gricol all made appearances on the mound for Baker securing the 4-3 victory.
The second game St. Mary’s took an early 3-0 lead and held off a seventh inning rally by the Wildcats to take game two, 3-1. Costly errors and quiet bats cost the Wildcats a victory. In the bottom of the seventh inning Steven Stewart, Kindle, and Herbert all reached on walks. Jose Orozco was only able to bat one run in on his single to left field. With the bases loaded, Justin Lane grounded into a double play to end the ballgame.
Next action for the Wildcats is Saturday March 5th, where they will meet the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.) in Leavenworth for a 1 P.M. neutral site game. The match up with the Wildcats will be Sioux Falls opening game of the season. Sunday March 6th the Wildcats will travel to Culver-Stockton (7-7) for their conference opener starting a 1 p.m. Culver-Stockton is currently riding a three-game losing streak.
