LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Baker University baseball team fell 7-1 to the hands of NCAA Division I University of Kansas on Wednesday evening inside Hoglund Ballpark.

The Wildcats sent six pitchers to the mound and 22 Wildcats saw the field. The pitching staff allowed just six hits but allowed eight walks and four hit batters.

Josh Vossen threw the first two innings of the game and allowed only one hit but earned the loss.

Ryan Hahn came in relief in the bottom of the third and lasted 2.1 innings but walked five batters and allowed five earned runs.

Alex DeLeon had the big hit of the game with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Jayhawks up 6-1.

Baker had six hits on the night with six different Wildcats earning those hits. Neal Boyce, Matt Fry, Justin Lane, Bryan Kindle, Nathan Growcock and Ethan Jacks all had hits.

Drew Morovick earned the win for KU with his three innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Baker will return to Hoglund Ballpark to take on the Jayhawks next Wednesday, May 1 against at 6 p.m.

The Wildcats will wrap up the home portion of its schedule this weekend as they host Avila for a four-game set on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sauder Field.
