Baseball Moves Home Opener to Monday

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University baseball team will move up its 2014 home opener from Tuesday, Feb. 25 to Monday, Feb. 24 due to the potential for below freezing temperatures in the Baldwin City area Tuesday.

The doubleheader against Sterling College will begin at 1 p.m. at Sauder Field. The Wildcats are coming off of a successful trip to Texas over the weekend as they took three of four games against Wiley College.

The Wildcats swept day one with a 4-1 game one victory and then a 4-3 win in nine innings. On Saturday, Baker won game one 7-1 and then took fell in the finale, 5-1.

Baker enters the game with a record of 3-5, while Sterling comes in ranked No. 7 in the NAIA and a record of 9-4.
