BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University baseball shutout Bethany 1-0, and Park University, 3-0, to improve to 5-9 on the season and picked up its first home wins of the 2014 season on Sunday.

The Wildcats won both contests with stellar starting pitching, as sophomore Seth Jones threw the seven-inning shutout allowing just four hits while striking out six batters and walking just one.

In game two, Ryan Lasneske threw the seven-inning shutout and allowed just four hits with three strikeouts while allowing no walks.

In the first contest, Baker managed just four hits from four different batters, as Neal Boyce, Ethan Jacks, Taylor Whittum and Ryan Terstriep had the four hits.

And Gabe Greenbaum had the lone RBI of the contest, as he knocked in Whittum with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning.

In game two, Baker had seven hits and three runs. Terstriep and Greenbaum each had two hits and Neal Boyce went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

The Pirates and Wildcats went scoreless for the first three innings of the game, then Baker's bats woke up for two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Whittum hit a double to left field that scored Jacks and then Boyce knocked in Whittum with a single to center field. The 'Cats then added its final run in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI singly by Greenbaum that scored Lake Johnson.
