The Baker Athletics Hall of Fame member will begin a new role on campus, as the Assistant Director of Development after the season after 14 years as the Wildcats head coach.
With the victories, Baker improved to 18-24 on the season and 12-10 in the HAAC, while Peru State fell to 27-17 and 14-10 in the conference.
The Wildcats took down Peru State on Friday 2-1 in game one, while falling to the Bobcats 7-6 in game two. On Saturday, Baker won 4-2 and 2-1.
Baker received 13.2 innings out of a total of 14 innings from its starting pitchers on Saturday.
Seniors Jimmy Gricol and Thomas Hawkins started for the 'Cats with Gricol throwing a complete game in game one and Hawkins threw 6.2 innings, with Kyle Pattrick securing the final out in the final home of game of the season for the save.
Baker will next take on the University of Kansas on Tuesday, Apr. 22 at 6 p.m. in Lawrence, Kan., then takes on Avila University next Friday and Saturday, Apr. 26 and Apr. 27 for the final series of the regular season.
