Women's basketball to host Culver-Stockton College Saturday afternoon
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The first-place Baker women's basketball team (7-6, 3-0), winners of three straight conference games, returns to Heart of America Conference play Saturday, Jan. 9, against Culver-Stockton College (3-9, 0-4). Tip-off is at 2 p.m. in the George F. Collins Center.
Transfers Emily Gibson and Brittany Hines have lived up to their billing so far this season. Gibson averages 14.2 points, 1.6 steals, 1.9 blocks and 9.5 rebounds per game, while Hines averages 10.5 points per game.
Culver-Stockton will play their first game in 24 days when they step on the court against Baker. Culver Stockon is led by Lisa Plattner, who averages 9.5 points per game. The Wildcats have won just once on the road in six tries this season, a 54-49 season-opening victory at Stephens College (Mo.) on Nov. 3.
