Wildcats succumb to second half surge
OLATHE, Kan. - Despite leading for more than 18 minutes in the first half, the Baker women's basketball team fell 53-62 on Thursday evening. Junior guard Jenna Brantley (pictured) led the scoring attack for the Wildcats with 11 points while shooting 5-14 from the field and 1-5 from beyond the arc.
The Pioneers (10-8, 5-3) were not intimidated by the Wildcats' (10-7, 6-1) top ranking in the conference and outscored the Wildcats 35-24 in the second half.
The Wildcats shot just 31 percent (20-63) from the field and 13 percent (2-15) from beyond the arc.
With the loss, Baker dropped to 1-9 in their last 10 contests at the Cook Center in Olathe, Kan.
The Wildcats will be back in action Saturday when they face Graceland University (9-6, 4-5) at 2 p.m. at the George F. Collins Center in Baldwin City, Kan.
