Turnovers plague Wildcats in 62-73 loss at BenedictineGloria Atanmo

ATCHISON, Kan. - After battling to a 78-72 overtime win on Monday evening, the Baker women's basketball team dropped its second conference game of the season Thursday night.

The Ravens (12-8, 7-4) forced the Wildcats (12-8, 8-2) into a season-high 24 turnovers en route to its fourth straight conference victory.

"Turnovers killed us. You can't turn the ball over that many times and expect to win the basketball game," said head coach Susan Decker.

The Wildcats shot 46 percent overall and were out rebounded 24 to 22. Benedictine's strong defense and backcourt press disrupted the Wildcats and prevented Baker from settling into an offensive rhythm during the second half.

Sophomore Gloria Atanmo (pictured), one of the only highlights on the night, scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed five rebounds. Junior Aubree Gustin added 11 points while Emily Gibson chipped in with 10.

Kaela Stratman took the game over for the Ravens, scoring 15 points while shooting 5-6 from the field and 5-6 from beyond the arc.

The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Lindenwood University (6-13, 4-7) for a 6:30 p.m. showdown in St. Charles, Mo.
