Women’s basketball looks to bounce back at Park Invitational

PARKVILLE, Mo. – After falling 77-67 to Friends University on Wednesday night, the Baker women’s basketball team will look to get back on track Friday and Saturday when they take part in the Park University Invitational.

The Wildcats open up action Friday night when they face nearby Ottawa University (0-2) at 5 p.m. Maggie Hasenkamp leads the Braves offensive attack averaging 10 points over her first two games. Defensively Amber Ramsey has 9.5 rebounds per game, five of which she averages offensively.

As for Baker (2-1), the Wildcats have had different leading scorers in each game this season. Brittany Hines scored 23 points in the season opener, Aubree Gustin netted 20 against University of Science & Arts and Emily Gibson led the team with 16 against Friends University. Gibson recorded double-doubles in her first two games, but fell two rebounds short against Friends.

Host Park University (1-1) dropped its first game of the season to Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) foe William Jewell College on Tuesday evening in Liberty. The Pirates opened up the season with a victory against Missouri Valley College, 58-54 on Nov. 2nd. The Pirates enter play with two players tied for the lead in scoring. Both Oasha White and Kristian Dodds are averaging 15 points per game. Saturday's game is set to tipoff at 3 p.m.
