The game itself wasn’t pretty as Baker managed to shoot just 16-for-50 (32 percent) from the field, but thanks to solid free throw shooting, Baker outscored CMU 16-7 from the charity stripe.
Bench scoring kept Central Methodist (3-20, 1-12 HAAC) in the game as the CMU bench outscored Baker 21-6. Two Eagles scored in double figures with Sami Dunger leading the way with 14 points.
Baker won’t have any down time heading into Friday as they prepare for a key conference game on Saturday afternoon with HAAC leader Evangel University (13-7, 11-1 HAAC). The Crusaders lone HAAC loss came back on Dec. 6th when the Wildcats defeated Evangel 56-43. Tipoff is slated for 2 pm in Baldwin City.
