Brittany Hines named NAIA Scholar-Athlete
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University’s Brittany Hines (Hutchinson, Kan.) was named a 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, one of 127 Division I women’s basketball student-athletes to earn the distinction, the NAIA announced on Monday.
Hines finished second on the team in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game. She also set the Baker single-game record for points scored (34) in the Grand Canyon Classic held in Phoenix, Arizona over winter break.
Hines was also named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) all-conference second team.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
