SALINA, Kan. – The Baker University women’s basketball team dropped its season opener on Tuesday evening 74-51 to No. 4 Kansas Wesleyan University.
Rae Lynne Stewart (pictured) led the way offensively for Baker netting nine points on 2-for-3 shooting from the field and 5-for-6 shooting from the charity-stripe. As a team, Baker finished just 16-for-47 (34 percent) from the field and 2-for-15 (13.3 percent) from beyond the arc.
Rashida Simpson led the Baker defense with 10 rebounds and one block.
Turnovers were the story though as Baker committed an all-time high 38 turnovers. Kansas Wesleyan also outscored the Wildcats 32-16 in the paint.
