HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Baker University head women’s basketball coach Ben Lister announced the signing of Taylor Chase on Feb. 6.

Chase, a senior from Thunder Ridge High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo., comes from a program that’s known for its championship success, having won three state championships over the past four seasons. Currently in her senior season, Chase is averaging 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals per game. Her biggest accolade of late was being named to the elite all-tournament team at the 2011 Nike Tournament of Champions.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Taylor,” said Baker head coach Ben Lister. “She has experienced a lot of success at Thunder Ridge High School. Taylor is the lone senior on her team this year and her leadership has been immeasurable. Making the all-tournament team at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix is a great accomplishment and a testament to her ability. She is well coached and very skilled. Her length on the perimeter and skill set are going to be big assets for us. She also was an all-state academic selection and we are looking forward to her future here at Baker University.”

The Baker women’s basketball team is coming off a heartbreaking 84-77 overtime defeat to Evangel University this past weekend. The Wildcats return to action on Feb. 9 when Baker hosts Peru State College at 5:30 p.m., in the George F. Collins Center.
