Baker Ends Winning Streak at Four

LIBERTY, Mo. – The Baker University women's basketball team ended its four-game winning streak on Friday night in a 76-56 loss at NCAA Division II William Jewell College.

The Wildcats fell to 8-4 on the year with the loss, but Avery Vogts and Macy Wallisch stepped up for Baker from the bench, as both scored in double figures with 15 points for Vogts and 10 for Wallisch.

The Jewell defense caused 24 Baker turnovers and almost shutout the Baker starters, holding the starting five to just eight points. Rashida SImopson was the only starter to score with all eight.

Baker did outrebound the Cardinals, 43-32, with Simpson leading the way with seven and Wallisch grabbing six.

Kyrstie Ehm also provided a spark off the bench with seven points and four rebounds. Baker shot 5-of-21 from beyond the arc and Avery Vogts hit three of those, going 3-for-4.

William Jewell posted four double-digit scorers with Katlyn Wood scoring a game high 20, she also grabbed a team high five rebounds.

The Wildcats will look to bounce back tomorrow, as they hit the road again to take on Central Christian of the Bible at 2 p.m. in Moberly, Mo.
