With the loss, the Wildcats fell to 9-5 on the year but have won five of its last seven games. Saturday marked the final non-conference game on Baker's schedule in 2012-13.
The Bulldogs improved to 7-6 and scored 34 points off of Baker's 30 turnovers. The Wildcats largest lead came with 11:01 to go in the second half when they led by 10, 56-46.
But McPherson, went on a 7-0 run to close the gap to just three points, 56-53, with 7:41 left.
Rashida Simpson finally broke through and scored for Baker to put the 'Cats up, 58-53, with 5:44 to go.
McPherson then tied things up at 61-61 with a free throw by Ali Brewster. With 44 seconds to go, BriAnna Garza put Baler up one, 66-65 with a free-throw of her own. Then the Bulldogs tied it up at 66-66 with a free throw by Madison Chambers.
Baker had the last shot to try and end it, when Shea Shoemaker put up a jumper as time ran out and the game went into OT.
In overtime, Garza scored first for the Wildcats with two more free-throws to give Baker the 68-66 lead, but Baker couldn't hang on from there and fell in its final non-conference game.
Three Wildcats scored in double figures including an impressive 23 points and 15 rebounds by Simpson.
Garza scored 20 and Kyrstie Ehm scored 11. The Wildcats dominated the boards, outrebounding the Bulldogs, 61-35. Rece Huddlin had 12 rebounds and three points.
Five Bulldogs scored in double figures with Brewster and Chambers each pouring in a team high 15.
Baker hit seven three-pointers, with Garza hitting three, Ehm hitting three and Shoemaker hitting one.
The Wildcats will next hit the hardwood next Thursday, Jan. 3 at 5:30 p.m., as they take on Peru State at the Collins Center in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.
