BU Drops First HAAC Loss at Culver

CANTON, Mo. – The Baker University women's basketball team dropped its first Heart of America Athletic Conference game of the season on Saturday at Culver-Stockton, 60-57.

The Wildcats are now 10-6 on the year and 3-1 in the HAAC, while CSC improved to 6-9 and 1-4 in the HAAC.

CSC earned its first conference win with the help of 17 points from Mimi Reaves and 12 from Katie Davis.

Baker was led by Alisha Fanshier's 15 points, but as a team turned the ball over 23 times. The Wildcats did get to the line 39 times and converted on 27 of those for a percentage of 69.2-percent.

Baker led by as many as eight points in the second half at 43-35 with 14 minutes left, but couldn't hang on to the lead as the CSC Wildcats went on a 7-0 run after that point to cut the lead to 43-42.

The contest went back-and-forth after that point and CSC took home the victory for its sixth win of the season.

Kyrstie Ehm finished the night second in scoring with seven and Macy Wallisch led the Wildcats in rebounding with 12.

Baker will return to the floor next Thursday, Jan. 10 to take on rival MidAmerica Nazarene at 5:30 p.m. at the Collins Gymnasium.
