BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – No. 12 ranked Benedictine College came in and spoiled Baker University's senior night with an 85-80 win over the Wildcats to wrap up second-place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Baker finished the regular season 19-11 and 12-6 in the HAAC with a fourth-place finish in the final HAAC standings. Baker will take on No. 5 seeded Peru State this Thursday, Feb. 28 in the first round of the HAAC Conference tournament at 7 p.m. at the Collins Center.

Benedictine will take on seventh-seeded Evangel also on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Atchison, Kan.

Baker jumped out to a 7-2 lead to begin the night with five points by Alisha Fanshier and a bucket by Rashida Simpson.

Benedictine then started heating up from three-point range and went up 11 points with 4:42 to go until halftime, 36-25.

Then the Ravens went on a 9-5 run to end the half and entered the break up 15 points, 47-32.

Justice Payne hit a three to open up the second half and Liz Stinson nailed a bucket to put BC up, 52-32.

But then Ciarra Washington began to bust through the nets, as she knocked down six three-point field goals and kept the Wildcats in the game.

She cut the BC lead to 12 with 5:20 to go with a three-pointer to bring the score to 75-63. The Gardner, Kan., product then hit another three with 46 seconds to go to cut the Raven lead to five, 83-78.

But Baker couldn't trim the lead below five points and ended the regular season with a five point loss to the Ravens, 85-80.

Baker honored its two seniors Fanshier and Rece Huddlin at the conclusion of the game, Fanshier led all scorers with 21 points on the night and Huddlin scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds.

Benedictine hit 10 three-point field goals and Payne hit four behind the arc and Jackie Ziesel hit two.
