OLATHE, Kan. – No. 4 seeded Baker University ended its season on Saturday at the hands of rival No. 1 seeded MidAmerica Nazarene in a 59-55 loss in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Semifinals at the Cook Center.

Baker ends its season 20-12, while the Pioneers advance to the HAAC Finals and will host No. 3 Central Methodist on Tuesday, Mar. 5. The Eagles defeated No. 2 Benedictine, 78-70 in overtime.

Baker struggled from the field, shooting just 29-percent from the floor and hit just 3-of-15 from three-point land. But did hold the Pioneers to a poor shooting night from three at 15.4-percent, on 2-of-13 shooting.

Alisha Fanshier and Kyrstie Ehm scored in double figures for Baker with 15 from Fanshier and 11 from the sophomore Ehm.

Three Pioneers scored in double figures, as Kendra Flemming finished with a game high 16, Megan Balcom had 14 and Kelcey Balcom scored 12.

The Wildcats won the battle on the boards with a 43-37 edge and caused 21 Pioneer turnovers.

The Wildcats earned 20 wins for the first time since the 2004-05 season, head coach Ben Lister earned the HAAC Coach of the Year award and four Wildcats earned HAAC All-Conference honors.
