At the event the HAAC Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll was announced and Baker University was selected fourth out of the 10 teams with 58 total points.
Baker is coming off an impressive 2012-13 when they increased their win total from six in 2011-12 to 20 last season. Baker went 20-12 overall and 12-6 in the HAAC last season and returns 10 players from that squad.
Rashida Simpson returns for the Wildcats after a stellar sophomore season in which she averaged 9.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, also returning is BriAnna Garza who led the 'Cats in assists a year ago with 103 and averaged 8.5 points per game.
They also return scoring threat Kyrstie Ehm who averaged 7.3 points per game and knocked down 36 three-point field goals last year, good for third on the squad.
Baker will open up the 2013-14 season on Friday, Nov. 1 at home in the Baker Classic. They will take on Tabor College on Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and then will face Southwestern College on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Collins Center at 3 p.m.
