'Cats Earn Road win at Graceland, 83-71

LAMONI, Iowa – The Baker University women's basketball team defeated Graceland University, 83-71, on Saturday afternoon to improve to 1-1 in the HAAC and 7-4 overall.

Kyrstie Ehm had a huge day with 27 points on an impressive 8-of-12 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. She also knocked down two three-point field goals.

Rashida Simpson was big on the boards with 12 and the Wildcats outrebounded the Yellowjackets, 51-35.

The Wildcats also had two other 'Cats in double figures, as BriAnna Garza finished with 15 and Shea Shoemaker poured in 17, her fifth double-figure night of the season.

At the break, GU and BU were tied up at 40-40, but the Wildcats stormed out of the half to outscore the Yellowjackets, 83-71.

Graceland had just one player score in double figures, as Ashleigh Wilson had 18 points and five rebounds, another team high.

Baker shot 52.6-percent from the floor and 10 different Wildcats scored on the night. The Wildcats will next take on Central Methodist on Monday, Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m. on the road.
