KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The No. 21 ranked Baker University women's basketball team won its fifth-straight conference game on Thursday night with a 60-44 road win at Avila University.

The Wildcats are now 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the HAAC and have won three straight games overall and six of seven.

With the loss, Avila fell to 4-10 and 2-4. The Wildcats led throughout the contest and kept a double digit lead from most of the second half, as they led 28-23, at the break and led by as many as 22 points, leading 54-32 with eight minutes to go in the game.

Baker posted three double digit scorers, as Macy Wallisch had a game high 12 points and Shea Shoemaker had 11 and BriAnna Garza had 10.

Baker shot a solid 78.6-percent from the free-throw line at 11-of-14, while the Eagles shot just 45.5-percent.

Baker also held a normally strong three-point shooting team to just 31.3-percent on 5-of-16 from behind the arc.

The Wildcats had 19 assists on 22 field goals and caused 16 turnovers on the night and outrebounded Avila, 44-28.

Baker will return home this Saturday, Jan. 18 to take on Evangel University at the Collins Center at 2 p.m.
