BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 21 ranked Baker University women's basketball team survived a 78-76 victory over Evangel on Saturday afternoon inside the Collins Center.

The Wildcats had four players in double figures led by BriAnna Garza who had 15 points. Shea Shoemaker had 12 points, while Macy Wallisch totaled 11 and Rashida Simpson added 10 points all in the second half.

Wallisch was also strong on the defensive side recording five blocks and five rebounds in 24 minutes of action.

Jami Hodge had five points and a team high eight rebounds off the bench, while Baker also had 26 points in the paint and 16 second chance points.

Allison Swanson was a force inside for the Crusaders scoring a game high 26 points and adding nine rebounds, she was also 12-of-14 from the charity stripe.

Baker shot 46 percent from the field, including an uncharacteristic 4-of-15 from beyond the arc, while Evangel shot 41-percent from the field.

Baker had 17 turnovers and Evangel had 15, each team also had a total of 42 rebounds.

The Wildcats will next travel to Peru, Neb., to take on Peru State next Thursday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m.
