BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University women's basketball team continued its winning ways on Saturday afternoon with an 80-71 win over Missouri Valley for its eight-straight HAAC victory.

With the win Baker improves to 15-5 on the year and 8-1 in the conference, while the Vikings fell to 13-8 and 5-4 in the HAAC.

Despite a 34-32 deficit at halftime, the Wildcats stormed back to outscore MVC, 48-37, in the second half.

Baker turned the ball over 16 times, but did outrebounds the Vikings, 51-36, with Macy Wallisch leading the way with her nine rebounds. She also added to her HAAC lead in blocks with four more on Saturday.

BriAnna Garza led the way in scoring with 20 and Shea Shoemaker added 16. Kyrstie Ehm again scored in double figures with her 13 points.

Wallish nearly had a double-double with her eight points and nine rebounds and Rashida Simpson added eight points and grabbed three rebounds.

Gabi Morales was outstanding for the Vikings with her 29 points on 12-of-24 shooting and she went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

The Wildcats will next take on rival No. 4 ranked MidAmerica Nazarene next Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in Olathe, Kan.
